Market stalls 06
INFORMATION FOR STALL HOLDERS
Leicester Pride's open air festival
will be held on Victoria Park on Saturday
June 24th. The festival will start
at 1.30 p.m. and will end at 7.30 p.m.
The park must then be cleared by 8
p.m.
There is free public access to the
Park and our festival.
In 2005, the attendance during the
whole event was estimated to be in
the region of 13,000 people, most of
the whom attended the festival on Victoria
Park at some time during the day.
The festival site on Victoria Park
will include a market stalls area,
a community tent, a beer tent, a live
stage/dance tent and various smaller
attractions.
Stall holders and others can gain
access to the festival site from 10
a.m. on the morning of Saturday 24th
June.
Market stalls
Leicester Pride can provide stalls
- either a single or a double stall.
Traders can then use these stalls
to display their products.
We provide the stall but you will
have to bring your own chairs if you
wish to sit down at any time during
the day.
Pitches
Pitches are areas of the festival
site that can be allocated to traders
(or organisations) that wish to bring
their own stalls or display stands.
There are three pitches sizes: 48
sq feet, 96 sq ft and 144 sq ft.
Technical data
The stalls provided by Leicester Pride
are trestle tables, 8 feet in length
and 3 feet in width. They comprise
a flat wooden surface, 2.5 feet high.
Pitches are provided on the grassed
area of the festival site. Neither stalls not pitches have any
electrical or water supply.
If you require an electrical supply
you should either bring your own free
standing generator or hire one through
Leicester Pride Limited.
There is only one water supply point
for the whole of Victoria Park. If
your stall requires fresh water you
must bring a suitable container with
you. General procedures
When you arrive at the vehicle entry
gates of Victoria Park, you will be
greeted by a Steward. You will have
to show the Steward a printed copy
of the PERMIT we sent you. Without
this you will not be able to bring
your vehicle on to the site and you
will not be allocated a stall or pitch.
You should arrive at the festival
site with a mobile phone. The number
of this phone must be notified to us
in advance.
You will be shown to your stall or
pitch by a badged Steward. You will
be given a plan of the festival site. You may then set up your stall or
pitch and remove your vehicle to our
designated parking area.
You must check into the Event Control
box at the earliest possible opportunity
and collect your ID badge. This must
be worn at all times until you eventually
leave the park. If you bring anyone
else with you, they too must have an
ID badge if they are in any way connected
with your trading activities. Stewards on duty at Victoria Park
will have two way radios. To contact
the organisers at any time during the
day, either find a steward and ask
them to radio a message or go to the
Event Control Box.
Adult material
Leicester Pride is a public event
and attracts people of all ages,
including children. In order to protect
children from seeing products or
displays that their parents might
consider unsuitable, stalls offering
adult products will be situated in
an area that is not viewable by the
public. A sign will notify people
that this area contains adult material
this might be unsuitable for children.
General points
If the weather is hot and you will
be outside for a long time, you are
advised to bring plenty of bottled
water with you.
Generators
If you are bringing your own generator
(to provide electricity) it must
be diesel and not petrol. For health
and safety reasons, petrol generators
are not allowed on to the Park (by
order of the City Council.)
If you need an electricity supply,
but do not have your own generator,
you must hire this through the Pride
Organisers. There will be a charge
for this.
