Festival 2006

The Leicester Pride Festival took take place on Saturday 24th June on Victoria Park.

This year's free festival was different from those in recent years in that there was no main sound stage. Instead, live music was located in a tent with open sides.

The line up offered a mixture of bands and solo singers and range of musicaly genres from rock to folk.

Pride day on the park

The Lord Mayor of Leicester opened the event at 2 p.m. in the Dance Tent with PARISS, the Pearl Experience and other VIP guests.

Firebrand stage stomping, face pulling, powerchord-avoiding, instrumentally accomplished three piece, ripping up the girl-band rule book and creashing through genres like a musical wrecking ball. web site

Hosted by the fabulous PEARL EXPERIENCE, the dance tent will provided a lineup of Leicester's leading DJs, including

The dance sets will covered everything from camp classics to the latest club sounds. Presided over by the fabulous Pearl Experience.

Community

There is no community tent this year instead it is an outdoor market place featuring a diverse array of commercial and community based stalls.

Market stalls

Festival goers will be able to shop around with a wide variety of market stalls offering things you might not be able to buy locally. If you want to put on a market stall, click on the link for- more information. Use this link also if you want to offer food and other catering outlets on the Festival site.

Midland Classic Authentic Red Routemaster London Bus - running gay speed dating on the top floor alternating female and male sessions - providing date tags and a flirt message service - a chill out area and meeting area on the ground floor - and a party bus from 6pm onwards.
