All about Leicester Pride
Leicester Pride wass the annual festival
for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and
transgendered community in Leicester
and Leicestershire.
As at November 2007, there has been
no news about any initiatives to revive
any kind of Pride or gay celebration
in Leicester.
So, unless something happens soon,
we can only assume that no one out
there wants to organise a gay festival
here.
Of course, if anything does get going,
details can be published on this web
site.
What Leicester Pride was ...
Organised by an amazing team of volunteers,
our day of celebration included a city-centre
parade and park-site festival, attracting
more than 10,000 people.
Leicester Pride 2006 was the sixth
annual event organised by Leicester
Pride Limited via the voluntary Executive
Committee. The event was run solely
by volunteers.
Leicester Pride Limited is a company
limited by guarantee. It has a number
of voluntary Directors and is a non-profit
organisation. There are no paid staff
and no full-time offices, although
some office facilities are provided
by The Leicester Lesbian, Gay and
Bisexual Centre in Wellington Street.
